Set up email account - IMAP/POP/SMTP details

Your web hosting package also includes e-mail as standard. You can link these e-mail accounts to your e-mail client (such as Outlook, or the mail app on your phone). In this article we explain how to do this.

Incoming mail, POP or IMAP?

For incoming mail you can choose to use the POP or IMAP protocol. Do you want to be able to read your email on multiple devices? Then choose IMAP. With IMAP, the mail remains stored on the server, and you can access it from multiple devices. Do you want the mail not to remain on the server, but just on one of your devices? Then choose POP. With POP, the mail is downloaded to your device and then deleted from the server. Please note that it is not recommended to connect multiple devices with POP, because then it is possible that not all mail arrives on both devices.

For sending outgoing mail you only have the option to connect to an SMTP server.
